Hi camilabvic,
Sounds like you have three-level rather than standard two-level data (xt suite of commands only handles the latter).
Individuals (level-1) within years (level-2) within countries (level-3)
Yes, runmlwin can fit three-level models to three-level data
Best wishes
George

Re: Uncentred covariate
Dear coopsrct, We have not implemented this functionality in the runmlwin command. We note that it is also not implemented in Stata's own commands. In Stata you have to manually centre your covariates (by generating new variables) prior to including them in a model. Consider covariate x We can centr...

Re: AME via runmlwin
Hi Roberta, The topic viewtopic.php?t=877 shows you how to compute average marginal effects for a single-level logistic regression model. The presented formula was simply the difference in two predicted probabilities where we changed the. If you instead have a multilevel model you have the additiona...

Re: Logistic growth curve model problem
Hi Elisabeth, MQL1 estimates of variance components are biased downwards and this bias can be strong when there is severe clustering, as for example with repeated measures data which is what you have. This might be one reason why your slope variance is stuck on zero. So moving to PQL2 and especially...

Re: Parameter expansion introducing bias?
Hi Stuart,
Please will you post the runmlwin comand and output for your model with and then without parameter expansion?
Many thanks
George

Re: Nested Logit
Dear Kevin, Thank you for your kind comments regarding runmlwin You are correct there is no nested logit functionality in MLwiN and therefore runmlwin. I'm afraid I also do not know what software can estimate multilevel versions of these models. You could take a look and email the developers of the ...

Re: Random effects with multilevel binomial data
Dear rdmcdowell, In terms of "I noted when reading the runmlwin guide (p18) that when fitting a multilevel Bernoulli model no individual level error appears in the linear predictor. I was wondering if someone could clarify why this was the case." Adding a level-1 random effect to the level...

Re: A cross-classified data structure?
Dear Erol, Yes you have a three-way cross-classified data structure. You have procedures/surgeries nested within the cells formed by the three-way classification of patients, surgeons and hospitals. The binary nature of your response, the complexity of the data structure, and the likely size of your...

Re: unable to invert xtx
Hi Ali,
An example of when this occurs is when using Stata's i. factor notation with runmlwin models fitted by MCMC
Best wishes

Re: multinomial event history model
Hi Sarah, The IGLS model which you are using to provide starting values for your MCMC model appears to be falling over Two suggestions. (1) Fit a single-level lGLS model instead and then manually specify values for the 3*3 level-2 covariance matrix (only set the variances, set all covariances to zer...
