Variable not allowed
Hi there, Using realcomimputeLoad, I get the following error (see snippet from the command after set trace was set to on). Specifically, the second variable preemo listed in the impvals file (file copied in below the error as couldn't attach it) was not allowed. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks J...

Re: RealcomImputeLoad error with import of impvals file
Dear Chris, Thanks for looking into this and pointing out the update. It was strange because I tried to force replace the ado files for realcomimpute before getting in touch on the forum. I had to manually delete the files and then reinstall the package to install the new files. Anyway, problem is s...

Re: RealcomImputeLoad error with import of impvals file
Hi Chris,
Many thanks for the reply and helpful explanation of the 'in' syntax (it looks obvious in hindsight!)
I tried adding the extra space but unfortunately got no further with the problem.
Best wishes
Jamie

RealcomImputeLoad error with import of impvals file
Hi, I'm having trouble with realcomImputeLoad. The issue seems to be that Stata (using the realcomImputeLoad.ado) is not loading the impvals file in correctly - set trace shows this: . realcomImputeLoad ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- begin...

Re: Multiple imputation with RealCom and runmlwin
Hi all, Is there any way that using mi est: etc.. with Stata to combine the estimates might be different from that obtained with MlWin? My random parameters are identical when I fit the models in both datasets. However, there is some quite substantial variation in the overall intercept and the coeff...

Re: realcomImputeLoad error
Dear Chris,
Many thanks again for your support. I identified the problem - v11 was full of missing values - the impval file had some white space after the list of filenames (so a bit hard to spot what was up with it!)
Data now into Stata.
Best wishes and thanks again,
Jamie

realcomImputeLoad error
Dear all, I receive the following error from realcomImputeLoad. Stata is set to the correct directory containing the impvals and imputeiter files and these seem fine - I've retrieved them and successfully imputed models in MLwiN. The error (from a couple of lines before it in the traced output) is b...

Re: realcomImpute error
Dear Chris, Thanks for the advice. I removed part of the file path and it worked - it was a very slight typo which I hadn't picked up by eyeballing the file path originally. Good idea on the 'set trace on'. That might be a useful general note for people sending in error messages from Stata for the r...

Re: Error message for categorical variable imputation
Dear Ayah,
An updated version of realcom is now downloadable. It might be worth downloading this and checking whether you still get the error as I think a bug was fixed regarding the handling of categorical variables
Best wishes
Jamie
