Re: Binary outcome Multiple membership model

I think that you would need to post your full syntax before we can determine what is going wrong. If you haven't already seen we do provide example syntax for bother multiple membership and binary response models at https://www.bristol.ac.uk/cmm/software/ ... /examples/.

Re: Need help with using R2MLwiN

If you are running it on Windows then the trial version of MLwiN should work with R2MLwiN (except that for each model you will have to click the "accept trial" button). If you are running on a Mac or Linux machine then you will need to run the trial version under Wine so that it thinks it ...

Re: Need help with using R2MLwiN

Although we do provide a Mac-native scripting version of MLwiN with the full version of the software this is unfortunately not the case with the 30-day trial. In order to run this on a Mac you will either need to install it in a Windows virtual machine or via Wine (see https://www.bristol.ac.uk/cmm/...

Re: Units - Using the full data set

Could you check in the "Names" window that all of the columns used in the model (including the column "cons") are the same length? It sounds like you may have one included that only contains one row, which would result in this length being used when calculating the number of units.

Re: Slow with imputation model

There are a couple of possible StatJR template folders: in the StatJR installation directory (for templates included with the software): C:\Program Files\StatJR\templates In the user directory (for additional user-specific templates) (C:\Users\<your username>\.statjr\templates The second of these wi...

Re: The model did not run properly in MLwiN. Re-run the model without the nopause option to debug the model in MLwiN.

Is it the first or second of your two model fits that triggers the error? If it is the first have you checked whether switching from pql2 to mql1 allows it to fit?

Re: Error in foreign:read.dta(chainfile[i])

Thanks for confirming that you have found the reason for the problem that you were encountering. When we send the data to MLwiN from R we do so via a Stata .dta file, which I don't believe has a representation for a character missing value. I'd have to look into exactly what is going on but I would ...

Re: Error running 2LevelUnordered Template in MCMCglmm and Rrstan

Are you able to provide any further details regarding the models that you are trying to fit? Is the goal to fit them within MCMCglmm?

Re: Multilevel binomial response

MLwiN does not estimate a level-1 variance for binomial models, instead constraining it to a fixed value. For more details see:

Apportioning Variation in Multilevel Models

Partitioning variation across levels

Re: Weights in mcmc model of runmlwin

Unfortunately, other than in conjunction with multiple-membership models, MLwiN does not support weights when using MCMC estimation.
