Re: Detecting significant results

Hi Bill, thanks for your quick response. For both of my questions I had the p-value for each coefficient in mind. Additionally, my variables are not normally distributed. What can you recommend for testing the effect on each coefficient on an ordered categorical response variable regarding its signi...

Re: Detecting significant results

Good day,

thanks for your fast response. I have a little follow-up question: Where can I see the p-value regarding the independent variables in the regression equation to determine if the independent variable is significant or not?

Kind regards,

Sabine

Detecting significant results

Good day, At the moment, I am trying to fit a multilevel "empty model" with an ordered category response variable and I can only see effect sizes and standard errors in the model results. My question involves, where can I see exactely if the effect sizes are statistically significant (two-...

Re: Level Identifiers

Hi Chris, please find below the way that produced the crash. The attached file involves the corresponding worksheet. Maybe you have an idea what exactly caused the crash and what I should do. y – Look for New Positn N-level – 1: case_id (sequence 1, 2, 3, etc.) Ordered Multinominal: Multinominal / l...

Re: Level Identifiers

Good day Chris, yes, sure, I can confirm that I use MLwin 3.05 (64-bit version). In addition to the "crash"-problem, I would like to ask how I can specify "measurement occasion" when several persons responded at only two times of data collection and some at all three time points....

Re: Level Identifiers

Great, thank you. I have already found several examples. Unfortunately, another challenge came up. For the level identifiers I now have according to the LEMMA-examples: Level 1: resp_indicator; Level 2: Measurement Occasion, Level 3: case id (1,23,4, etc.). Please let me ask the following question: ...

Level Identifiers

Good day Chris, thanks for your great effort during the last week. I am still trying to work within MLwin 3.05 directly. However, I am confused about the level-identifiers. I tried out different options regarding the identifiers at level 1 and level 2. MLwin messages told me to create a "bcons&...

Re: Ordinal logit (non-proportional odds) - within-between

Good day, the simplest model worked (with a warning: "variance matrix is nonsymmetric or highly singular" - thank you. However, involving level2-model shows already a warning: "IGLS algorithm failed to converge. Increase the number of iterations. See the maxiterations() option." ...

Re: Ordinal logit (non-proportional odds) - within-between

Thanks for the helpful correction regarding the typo. I ran the simple model - xtologit LookNwPositn cons as well as ologit LookNwPositn cons - and directely after that runmlwin including initsprevious. However, stata then says "The initsprevious option is invalid: No parameters in the previous...

Re: Ordinal logit (non-proportional odds) - within-between

I tried that out - however - without - success. In particular, stata says that "option inisprevious not allowed". What can I do to run this special option?
