Post by louisa1121 »

I am both a Windows user and a Mac user, I am learning about MLwiN!
Which operating system will MLwiN work best with?
Give me a choice!

MLwiN is primarily developed and tested on Windows, however you may have success with running under Wine (https://www.winehq.org/) on other platforms (see http://www.bristol.ac.uk/cmm/software/m ... .html#unix). If you plan to call the software from R with R2MLwiN (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/cmm/software/r2mlwin/) or Stata through runmlwin (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/cmm/software/runmlwin/) then there are scripting versions that will work natively on both Mac and Linux.
