F-tests and effect sizes

Post by Roelie »

Hi there,

I am rather new to this, so perhaps my question is a bit naive, but is there a way to get the main effects and effect sizes for the fixed factors in my model? I understand how I can calculate the Z-scores, but in some cases my fixed factor consists of 3 groups, and rather than reporting the beta's separately for each comparison, I would like the overall Group-effect (in SPSS reported with F-tests). It would also be nice to be able to calculate effect sizes from this. Is there any way of doing this?
Thanks

Roelie
