Averages and correlation

Post by tommad »

Can anyone tell me what the correlation coefficient calculated in the "Averages and Correlation" is, and (very roughly) how it is derived?

Thanks in advance,

Tom

This is the same problem I’m having at the moment. I have recently helped a friend of mine with the following site http://minicab-london.org.uk
The site uses complex algorithm to calculate actual road distance mapped and correlated to straight-line distance (as the crow flies type) and complex pricing structure that involves many rules such driver type, vehicle type, local or regional, regular account holder or first timer.
Can anyone help?

r^2 is the proportion of ss_(yy) which is accounted for by the regression.
