Thank you for the clarification on what may be affected.
A colleague of mine has just installed and successfully run the -runmlwin- command without making any changes to the ado file. So it looks like the problem is local to my machine. I'm hoping that upgrading to Stata 12 will fix everything
I also get the same bug as above, (Could not load plugin .... Using MLwiN 2.30, Stata 13.1, runmlwin is updated and I dog get my results from MLwiN, but the warning "getversion plugin could not be loaded" arises each time. Is this just a nuisance or will I continue to get everything I request? I'm in a bit of hurry now so don't have time to fiddle with the ado code above (and I may need the batch feature for my huge dataset). P.S. The checksum turns out alright.
You should be able to ignore this as the -getversion- plugin is only use to ensure that you have a compatible (i.e. fairly recent) version of MLwiN and for reporting the MLwiN version used in the model output. Possible causes I can think of for this not to work are:
You aren't using Windows.
You have the 64-bit plugin version and are running the 32-bit Stata or vice versa
